Since its establishment in 1989, the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Tottori University, has produced more than 850 degree graduates, more than half of whom are international students from 43 countries. Many international students are active as leaders at universities, government agencies, private companies, etc. in their home countries after completing their studies. Therefore, the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences has begun to organize alumni associations, and in March of this year, the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences alumni established a Global Alumni Network (GAN-RENDAI), which is operated and utilized. To this end, the first conference and international symposium were held at Tottori University.
This time, we plan to hold it in China, which has the largest number of alumni. ), the second international conference and international symposium were held at the Institute on December 1-2.
At the symposium on the first day, after opening remarks by Vice President Hiromitsu Nakashima (in charge of education and international exchange), Director Zhang Yanxiang of the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology, and Dean Futaro Maekawa of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, the symposium was held at universities and companies in China. Six active alumni and Norihiro Shimomura, vice dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, who is a graduate of the first batch of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, will take the stage one after another to talk about their memories of those days, their careers after graduation, and their current research in Chinese or English. etc. In addition to the speakers, the symposium was attended by 62 people, including graduates from various parts of China and young researchers from the Institute.

The meeting on the second day was attended by 16 Chinese graduates, including the lecturers from the previous day, and from Tottori University, Executive Director Nakajima, Dean Maekawa of the United Graduate School of Agriculture, Vice President Kumi Yasunobe (in charge of promoting international exchange) and Director of the Center for International Exchange, 10 people including Kiichiro Kodama, Deputy Dean of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, participated in the seminar.
